Different wall coverings

It is getting to the point where I must make the design decisions for the walls in the kitchen and bathroom. The plumbers and electricians should be finished by the end of this week (let’s hope!), therefore, Andrew said we need to decide on our wall coverings. Where is tile going vs. paint, or wall coverings vs. tile? The best wall coverings I have seen are from Phillip-Jeffries. You can view samples in Dallas at their showroom or you can order these online. Since wallpaper is making a comeback, I think these would be great options for a bathroom or study. Check out some these yummy wall coverings below. They are washable too! Have a great Labor Day!

New Flickr.com photos

As I have posted before, you can visit flickr.com for any photo search. I found a new group of photos on Mudrick’s photo stream that were great interior design options from different places. Just a quick update on our home remodel, the Electricians are working on replacing the entire electrical system in our house. The original electric box was from the 1930’s. Scary! They are putting a new, up-to-code box and switches in the house. This will probably be another week. Enjoy the below photos. xoxo Traci

Walls are down!

All the demo is complete! See the photos below. As they were taking everything out, an old chimney was found behind some cabinets. We talked about trying to keep this and use this in the design, but it just would not work. The electric and framing start next week. We will be with out electricity for a week or two while they are rewiring the house. I will keep you posted. Have a great weekend!

No more kitchen!

No more kitchen! Thank you Jed! Mia, my fabulous niece, packed most of the kitchen for a small fee. Then Jed did most of the demo himself. Here are some the kitchen demo photos.

I think Jed liked the demo :)

Nathan Egan Interiors

Check out some interior design projects by Nathan Egan.

I needed some visual inspiration today. Just an update on our house remodel, we are back to step one. The set of architect plans we have been working off of for three months will now not work. The cost to just add and move all the new plumbing/electrical is over $25.0k, just for (what we call) “PHASE 1”. OUCH. The total remodel for PHASE 1 came in at almost $97.0k (this did not even include the two new bathrooms for Phase Two)! Jed and I, along with Andrew calculated we would never get our money back on such an extensive remodel without adding additional square feet. Jed and I decided to start over and work off of our original house plans from the beginning, keeping the kitchen and all bathrooms in the same location. It will be great once we can just make the final decisions. We bought our house based off remodeling everything in the same location so I know staying with our original plan is the best decision, just a bumming knowing how big our kitchen “could” have been, but oh well. We still love our home. 🙂 Enjoy the below photos!

Have you seen Pottery Barn lately?

Pottery Barn over the past few years has become very boring, however, have you checked them out lately? WOW! I went to the University Park store today just to look and I was shocked at their great selection. Here are just a few things I loved. I do recommend going to the store though because the selection is much better than online.
